Iz&Co Lab-Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds, also known as cultured diamonds, are diamonds that are created in a laboratory setting rather than being formed naturally within the Earth's crust over millions of years. Lab-grown diamonds have the same chemical composition, crystal structure, and physical properties as natural diamonds, but their creation process is accelerated in a controlled laboratory environment.

How are Lab-Grown Diamonds created?
Lab-grown diamonds are created through two main methods: high pressure, high temperature (HPHT), and chemical vapor deposition (CVD).

High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT): In the HPHT method, a small diamond seed is placed in a press and subjected to high pressure and high temperature. A carbon source is introduced, and the combination of pressure and temperature causes the carbon atoms to crystallize and form a diamond around the seed.

Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD): In the CVD method, a diamond seed is placed in a chamber with a carbon-rich gas. The gas is ionized, and the carbon atoms are deposited onto the seed, layer by layer, creating a diamond over time.

Both methods mimic the natural diamond-growing process but on an accelerated timescale, typically taking a few weeks to a few months to produce a lab-grown diamond of significant size.

Are Lab-Grown Diamonds Popular?
Lab-grown diamonds have gained popularity in recent years due to their ethical and environmental advantages. They are considered more sustainable and conflict-free compared to natural diamonds, as they do not require mining and have minimal impact on the environment. From a visual and gemological perspective, lab-grown diamonds are virtually indistinguishable from natural diamonds and possess the same beauty, durability, and brilliance.

It's worth noting that lab-grown diamonds are disclosed as such in the jewelry market to ensure transparency and allow consumers to make informed choices.

Why has Iz decided to launch his Lab-Grown Diamonds collection?
We have been contemplating offering lab-grown diamonds for a while now as it’s a very affordable and amazing option for those looking for an alternative to a natural colorless diamond but we were on the sidelines waiting for the market to stabilize when it came to pricing as it was previously way too high

When it comes to the lab-grown diamonds that we use, they are hand selected by Iz & Jovita (owners of Iz&Co.) as they together have over 25 years of experience in the diamond grading and gemologist field having worked in the past for GIA (Gemological Institue of America) & Harry Winston. We will only be working with D to F color and VS2 or higher for clarity to make sure that our customer has only the highest quality when it comes to their jewels.

Each diamond does come with a GIA or IGI certificate and is further inspected by us to make sure that there are no durability issues and that they fulfill our own strict internal guidelines. We know that there is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to lab-grown diamonds and encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions or doubts, we are here to help and assist you in any way that we can!
